Pre-Cast Reinforced
Concrete

PRC is an abbreviation of Pre-Cast Reinforced Concrete and is the material used in the construction of houses mainly built in the period after the second World War. In the early 1980’s it was discovered that deterioration of the reinforcing steel could, in time lead to cracking of the concrete panels, sometimes known as “concrete cancer” and PRC houses were designated as defective.

 

However PRC homes are often in excellent locations with good accommodation and gardens, making them very popular and, once rebuilt, highly desirable on the property market.
